Trinity College Dublin recently joined the European network of universities with four other renowned universities. These include the Utrecht University, the University of Barcelona, Eötvös Loránd University and the University of Montpellier. The Charm European University (Charm- EU) has been established to promote global education with a focus on the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The partner universities will offer challenging and interdisciplinary academic programmes drawing inspiration from the 2030 Agenda of United Nations’ SDGs to:
Provost Dr. Patrick Prendergast of Trinity College Dublin said, “Trinity is delighted to be part of this new network of European universities, cooperating together without frontiers. We will focus on the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), providing training to our European students in becoming global citizens. We need education programmes and research at the frontiers of knowledge to reduce poverty and the overall human pressure on our planet.”
